San Diego, CA - The Hope International women's tennis team (2-6) picked up their second win of the season as they dominated the University of Minnesota Morris Cougars 7-0 on Wednesday afternoon at a neutral site in San Diego, CA.
The Royals quickly took the doubles point sweeping the Cougars as
Nicole Escamillo and
Ellie Black won 6-0,
Eva Echeverri and
Merrit Dubourdieu won 6-1 and
Melody Kilonzo and
Catrina Hibbard won 6-1. The Royals didn't face much resistance from the Cougars as they also swept the singles matches with Black leading the way with a 6-1, 6-1 win. The Royals won two matches 6-0 and 6-2 with Escamillo and Echeverri winning. Hibard and Dubourdieu also picked up wins winning in straight sets 6-1 and 6-2. The closest match was Kilonzo winning 6-2, 6-2 to finish things off for a 7-0 win.
The Royals return to action on Thursday, March 13 at 2:00 PM against Whittier in Whittier, CA.
